Merry Christmas

I know, i´m late with this but better late than never. I had a quite nice christmas this year with my family even if I got fed like a pig rdy for slaughtering. It was definitely worth it and tasty as well.

The probably best this year and for sure most special present since I can remember came within this unforeseen little cube. I rly enjoyed this little fella and will keep him near to my workstation. ;)



Thats all for now. Things will get normal from now on I guess. Work, mexican work!

Assets assets assets


Just a glimpse of my current work. Our designers gave me some more tasks last week and I see myself doing almost nothing else then pushing our 3D pipeline to the limit. None the less, I managed to get 8 assets done in the last 2 days so far. I am not sure if I will post some pics of them in the near future, I first have to talk to my team about how strict we handle our work in terms of public presentation. Thats all for today, now I will grant myself some freetime and clean my room. It´s getting messy here.

3ds Max


My work is going well lately. The current project that I am working on takes my full attention and I almost feel bad if a day passed without anything done. I should keep this because it motivates me like never before. The pool picture was our task for today. Damn....I rly believe I should change to 3ds Max. It would have probably made my workflow on this "poly-clusterfuck" much easier.

CryEngine test map

The test map is going well so far. With some help of a fellow student, I managed to import my models with collision and texture. In the next three days, I will try to give the map a spooky touch with some fog and whatever I can find that seem to be useful.

Barcraft

So here I am, back from my first so called "Barcraft". Imagine a nice lounge atmosphere with less soccer and more starcraft on the big screen. Nice people from the gaming industry come together and celebrate the games while drinking a cocktail named after one of the games characters oder items.

CryEngine 3

Wow, this engine ist just....wow. Even as a beginner to the engine you are able to create decent results with just some clicks. I was not able to add the station yet but I hope to do so tomorrow. Damn I am lazy sometimes... Anyway, I made some screenshots of the current stage.

Station platform and Black Mesa

I am currently working on implementing a railway station into the cryengine3 and the UDK. The only thing that I hadn´t in store was the platform, my project for today. The building, handrails, rails etc. will be added in the engine.


The shot is rendered in "Marmoset Toolbag", a newcomer to my workflow. I realy recommend this tool if you need to take a closer look at your asset and look at it under different lightings.

Kinda busy

Hi there old chaps.

I was a bit busy the last two weeks with a game project I´m currently working on. I will try to post some more stuff the next days.

I begin more and more to feel unstatisfied with my current situation at the university but I try to keep going. Many things have changed in my mind and gave me a new view of myself and the people around me. I hope this will get to a good end.

Anyway, my skills in 3D expand in a way which I had never expected. Our recent task was to build a model after a given concept. A picture of an old house got my attention and made me model a "The Settlers 7"-like building.


I should get some sleep now.

SDK import from hell

After an hard day of struggling with the sourceSDK, I finaly managed to figure out, how to import maya models to the hammer editor. There is still a part in the process that I am not able to proceed at home which makes the final outcome a matter of time. I think everything should work tomorrow and I will be able to present my team a fine workflow. By the way, we are in the middle of the conceptual phase for our new university unit task. I can´t go into details because it is too rough to scetch you the idear. Give us some weeks and I will showcase some of our stuff.


Nonetheless, I asked our audio engineer/programmer to take a picture of our whiteboard after the brainstorming. Many good idears came together that will now get polished.

That´s it for today, I have to get some sleep. A Lot of work ahead.

Hi there fellow reader. I left my posts kinda uncommented lately due to my nonexistent skills in writing proper english. How is that? I try my best to write this as good as possible and you honour my glorious deed with some comments to my stuff. I would be amazing to hear some voices to my work or just ask me a question to whatever comes to your mind (game design or games in general maybe?). I think this is a pretty good deal. So......I should give you some time I guess......just glory these stupid assets that I have done today and get of my lawn you damn criminal....youth...football player or whatever you are!
