Finished grass

Finally, after one day of hard work, the grass is finally done. I stumbled over a a nice tutorial series which helped me to achieve a new level of foliage creation. So I walked out in the morning, took some photos and put everything together trough the day. This is how it looks right now:

I will probably tweak the specular and the wind but for now it does the job quite well.

Foliage WIP

Currently, I am creating some foliage for the coast-map. I am still new to the material editor so most of the material is made by a tutorial. I hope I can fix some of my current problems tomorrow including:
-lightning
-colour
-mesh compositing

Female sketch

Bluescreen

Due to the lack of proper ressources on cgtextures, I went out build myself a little bluescreen to take some photos myself. Feel free to use them on your own project. You can find them here.

Working on a new map for "F99"

After 3 weeks of experimenting and working, the map I currently work on, reached a presentable stage. This map is intended to be used in the student game "F99", a first person horror adventure with the spirit of the old resident evil games developed by a group of german game design students. I took the opportunity and applied for the job of the level designer and got the job. This is the result of 3 weeks of work. It is not much but I had to learn UDK from scratch while building this. I am kinda satisfied, though.

Trip to paris - Isam 2.0

Finally, after one month, I managed to get some pics that I made in paris from my camera (I lost my cable...) and am now able to let you take a look at them. These are only the more interesting ones, I assume that people have seen enough pictures of the eiffel tower.

The reason, why I went to Paris was an Amon Tobin concert. It was the last time that Isam 2.0 was performed live which pushed me to this clearly crazy desicion to go to paris just for 2 days. Taking into consideration that I could barely bring up the money even for this trip made it acceptable I guess. I will surely visit paris once more in the future and this time it will be at least one or two weeks. There is just so much to see.

Coming back to Tobin, it was just amazing. This was by far the most impressive live show that I´ve ever seen. The audio/visual concept was stunning and probably ahead of it´s time. You might want to check it out. Sadly, there are only proper videos of Isam 1.0 but you will get the idear.

(I do not own the rights to this videos but I legaly bought the DVD)
